I know we've been all dying to hear some news lately.
We've been working with our freight company to try to get the kitties on a boat and over to the states asap. Finally after what seems like forever, we have some dates we can share.
Unfortunately the boats are really backed up lately. Not as many people working, Covid still doing it's pandemic thing and shutting ports down at random, and overall the shipment world is more or less mass hysteria. But through all that we managed to get a boat booked. Sad fact is it's booked to ship out October 14th. Which means that it will arrive in Houston of all places (as the west coast is backed up, clogged up, etc, etc) around November 13th. Then it has to travel up to Chicago where they will be processed and shipped out. We hope that if all works out, we should have them all shipped before Christmas as long as customs and crazy winter storms or something doesn't delay us further.
This has stressed us out to no end as we've been really pushing our freight company to get things moving, but they did the best they could. I hope you all understand and if all works as planned, we should be seeing all of our kitties getting to everyone before the end of the year!
We aren't ready to lock addresses yet so don't stress. If you need to change your address just use the survey link that was sent to you originally from Backerkit, and you can edit your address as many times as you need. We will send out a notification in November to lock addresses.
Any questions feel free to ask by direct messaging us. It takes us a bit to get through them all, but we will answer as quickly as we can.

So looks like production is finishing up and we are in the process of scheduling shipment.
This normally takes a week or so to get scheduled, and we hope things goes smoothly. We are aware that some of the other ports in China have actually completely closed down due to a spike in the Delta Variant, but so far it doesn't seem to be effecting things for us just yet.
So if everything goes to play, in 3 or so weeks we should be seeing them in the states, transferred to our warehouse, and start shipping them out!
Now just to be fair, there's always a chance we will be delayed in our scheduling for freight, not to mention the normal possibilities of Customs holds, reviews, 2nd level, or even 3rd level inspections. I can't remember their names at the moment, but it can turn a few days thru customs to several weeks. Luckily we have some connections in Customs that can review things to make sure that we aren't confused for the wrong crate, which happened once with our dragon con exclusives. They held them for 3 weeks before we discovered they were holding them because of one number off. However if there's no mix ups, having our connections try to push the process faster actually slows it down, so we just have to hang tight as the customs agents review things.
But either way, we have some more progress now so yay! Tentacles crossed things go smoothly!
Just a reminder for folks who might need an address change. If you need to edit your address, just use the link provided previously for the Backer kit survey. The address is still changeable until we send out a warning that we will lock address. Until then, you can edit it as many times as you like.
